Last Ship Leaves NYC before Irene The arrival of Irene in NYC means Icarus Consultants will be closed on Monday August 29With the uncertainty surrounding the impact that hurricane or tropical storm Irene may have on the New Jersey/New York City metro area, Icarus Consultants will be closed on Monday, August 29 and will reopen on Tuesday, August 30th.

It’s likely that there will be some disruption to power supplies, wind damage and transportation problems that will take a little time to sort out. All client meetings scheduled for Monday have been cancelled. We expect to be back in business on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, we were not on the last ship to leave NYC this afternoon. We’ll be riding out the weather in New Jersey. If you are on the East Coast of the United States this weekend – keep safe!

United States Flag Marblehead MA 225x300 Memorial Day is a time for RemembranceMemorial Day is a time for remembrance, something that we do far too little of in today’s hectic, ‘always-on’ world.

Officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 following the United States Civil War, it’s purpose was to come together to honor those who gave their all for their country.

Some time today we should all step back and have a quiet moment of reflection. Icarus Consultants will be open for business tomorrow.

We expect the recent FDA approval of abiraterone acetate (Zytiga®) from Ortho Biotech (JNJ) to be hot news at the meeting as urologists seek to learn more about it’s use.

Icarus Consultants will be in our Nation’s Capital for AUA, so should you be interested in meeting up, please contact us.

Why we like ResearchBlogging.org

Blogging requires time, energy and effort. Ask anyone to tell a story about science and medicine in 300-500 words that captures your attention, and they will tell you it is not easy.

In a world where so much of what constitutes science news is a rehash of press releases, generating original blog content is something that our pharma & biotech consultants do by night, while working by day (or is it the other way round?).

Both Biotech Strategy Blog and Pharma Strategy Blog are part of the Research Blogging network (ResearchBlogging.org), that allows a link back to original scientific papers using the digital object identifier (DOI) reference that journals now publish.  As a company focused on bringing new to products to market, we believe that scientific data is the key to commercial success.

rb editors selection Why we like ResearchBlogging.orgPieter Droppert recently received an “Editor’s Selection” from ResearchBlogging.org  for his post on “Regenerative Medicine – can we rebuild our bodies as we get older?” Recognition is always appreciated.  Many thanks to Dr Peter Janiszewski for that.
