In case you missed the 16th Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) that took place this past weekend in London, Sally Church has produced a video blog with her highlights from the meeting.
It’s tough doing ASCO and EHA back-to-back, but Sally is a seasoned road warrior. In the video we even see her working on the plane!
In her video blog, Sally talks about new data from the Congress in AML, systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma (sALCL), and how pharma/biotech companies can do more with their drug packaging to help promote patient adherence to drug treatments.
Sally formerly worked at Novartis Oncology on imatinib (Gleevec®) in CML, so has expertise in this field. You can read more about EHA and hematology new products on Pharma Strategy Blog.

There is indeed usually little downtime on the quest for science at the many conferences such as AACR, EAU, AUA, ASCO, EHA, ESMO, SABCS, ASH, that she attends.
However, while in London for the annual Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA), Sally was fortunate to attend “Beating Retreat,” a ceremony that dates back to 16th century England.
On two summer evenings in June it is performed on Horseguards Parade in central London.
This year it featured the Massed Bands and Corps of Drums of the Household Division, supported by the Royal Horse Artillery and the United States Army Europe Band and Chorus. Proceeds from the sale of tickets go to soldier’s charities.
At the ceremony Sally attended, HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh took the salute on the eve of his 90th birthday. A truly memorable occasion.
Despite its pomp and circumstances the event reminded everyone of the sacrifices of those who serve their country. Following on from an exciting American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting, this Friday sees the start of the 16th Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA).
The annual EHA meeting runs from Friday June 10 through Sunday June 12, 2011 at the ExCeL conference center in London’s Docklands.
Sally Church will be traveling from Chicago to London, and aggregating tweets from the meeting on Pharma Strategy Blog (hashtag #EHA11). Should you be unable to attend, you can listen in on the conversation remotely.
